It is still too close to Valentine’s Day
It smells like shit everywhere
Because there is shit everywhere
I am impatient
The only poems I have memorized are my own
Singing the song of myself—
The three words every woman wants to hear—
“You’re not crazy!”
“You’re not crazy!”
Maggie and I say to hang up the phone
As if it’s I love you
Say it one, two
Three, four, five
Times in the mirror
I am loved in the snow
I am loved in the mud
I love in the dark
I face the sun
I look for the moon
Yellow blue green
Name all of the colors you can see, name what
All of the colors on your wrist mean
I always wanted to look out the window
To see the geometris
All of us fitting together
Hands in pockets, shoulders squared,
Lined up one by one, one on one,
One following one, one
Congregation — The only
Time we look at each other anymore
But it is all happening all the time, we are all
In synchronicity all the time.
I have bad habits
I have unopened letters
I have a party
I have a crush on you
I have time
I have the power
I have shit on my shoe
