what i mean

I thought that

Every fiction misconstrued

Would inch me closer

To you

That every written word

Would stand for things unsaid

And make them mean something

Even if I really don’t

That every prose and hybrid chime

Would get me to read my thoughts

The thoughts I don’t control

And maybe never had

For every time I write

Of the ubiquitous collective you

I really always mean you individually

For this is not for some but just for you

You’d read it certainly

Not meaning anything

For these end up being words

Not necessarily what they mean
